The blessed maqams
Imam al-Bukhari (RA)
Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, compiler of the Sahih, guardian of authentic hadith and a light for every generation since. His memorial complex stands at Hartang outside Samarkand, rebuilt and expanded in recent years, with a mosque, a library and the maqam itself.
Imam at-Tirmizi (RA)
Abu Isa Muhammad at-Tirmizi, author of the Jami, whose collection remains among the six books. His complex lies near Termez in the far south of the country, close to the Afghan border — a long journey, and for many pilgrims the most affecting one.
Bahauddin Naqshband (RA)
The heart of silent devotion and the founder of the Naqshbandi path, whose influence reached across Central Asia and into the subcontinent. His complex is a short drive from Bukhara and is visited daily by pilgrims from across the Muslim world.
Qasam ibn Abbas (RA)
A cousin of the Prophet ﷺ, remembered at Shah-i-Zinda in Samarkand — the avenue of mausoleums whose name means "the living king". The site is reached by a stair that pilgrims traditionally count on the way up and again on the way down.

Common questions
Where is Imam al-Bukhari buried?
The Imam al-Bukhari Memorial Complex stands at Hartang, about 25 kilometres outside Samarkand. It is the usual first stop on a ziyarat itinerary, and most groups allow half a day for it.
How many days does a ziyarat tour need?
Seven to ten days covers the main maqams comfortably — Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and, if Imam at-Tirmizi is included, Termez in the far south. Shorter trips are possible if you concentrate on Samarkand and Bukhara.
Can you arrange a group ziyarat from Pakistan?
Yes. Group ziyarat is one of the things this office does most often. We handle visas, flights, hotels, transport, guides who speak Urdu, and the route itself. Tell us the size of the group and your dates.
Is Uzbekistan suitable for elderly pilgrims?
Generally yes. The major complexes have level paths and shaded courtyards, the high-speed train between cities is comfortable, and hotels are modern. Tell us about mobility needs when you enquire and we will build the itinerary accordingly.
